US Airways
The US Airways is a low-cost airline of America. US Airways is situated in Tempe, Arizona. The airline is the sixth largest airline in US, and the largest low low-cost fare carrier in the United States according to destinations. Now it is being operated by US Airways Group. It was founded by Richard C. du Pont and Alexis Felix du Pont Jr. as All American Aviation Company. Having the hub in Pittsburgh, the All American Aviation Airlines Company served the Ohio River valley in 1939.
In the year 1949, this company was renamed as All American Airways as it switched its service from mail carrier to passenger service. In the year 1952 US Airways Company was again renamed as Allegheny Airlines. As Allegheny Airlines it expanded progressively. In this duration in 1966 it introduced the Douglas DC-9. In 1968 it acquired Lake Central Airlines and again in 1972 it acquired Mohawk Airlines, emerging as one of the largest carriers in the northeastern United States. After the Airline Deregulation Act it changed its name to its current name US Airways popular as US Air in 1979.
US Airways has its destinations in Europe, North America in Belize, Costa Rica and Guetmala. US Air operates primary hubs in Philadelphia, Charlotte, Phoenix and Las Vegas, with the Phoenix and Las Vegas being former America West hubs. In addition to that, it has a secondary hub in Pittsburgh. It also maintains its focus city operations at Washington Reagan National, New York LaGuardia and Boston. It serves the US Airways Shuttle, a US Air brand providing hourly service between key Northeastern markets.
Regional airline service of it is branded as US Airways Express. It is being operated by the subsidiary and contract airline companies. They are Air Wisconsin, Mesa Airlines, Piedmont Airlines Republic Airlines, Chautauqua Airlines, Colgan Air, Trans States Airlines and Air Midwest. US Airways slogan is customer first by the joint effort of the US Congress, US Department of Transportation and the airline industry.
