Southwest Airlines

The Southwest Airlines was founded on 15th March 1967 by Herb Kelleher and Rollin King. Southwest Airlines provides air transportation services in the United States. In 1971 the name of Air Southwest was changed to Southwest Airlines. Its head-quarter is situated in Dallas. Originally it was incorporated to serve three cities Houston, San Antonio and Love Field with three 737-200 aircrafts. In the month of September of the same year fourth flight was added. It became the first Airlines company to launch its website when it launched its official website on 16th March 1995.

As for its flight operations it prefers 'point to point' system in place of Central Hub system. Southwest Airlines has large operation in the central airports. There are McCarran International Airport, Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport, Chicago International Airport, Baltimore-Washington International Airport, Orlando International Airport, Tampa International Airport and Huston's William P. Hobby Airport.

Southwest operates with lower cost airports also they are Chicago's Midway Airport, Florida's Fort Lauderdale- Hollywood International Airport, Dallas' Love Field Airport, Houston's Hobby Airport, Manchester-Boston Regional Airport in Manchester, New Hampshire and T.F. Green airport in Providence. Southwest Airlines also serves the Long Island MacArthur Airport in New York Metropolitan area. In the last quarter of 2006 it launched it service at Washington Dulles Airport, with 12 flights daily. In California Southwest Airlines is the largest intra-state airline which has 355 flights out of 674 total flight of California.

The various services and programs Provided by Southwest Airlines are Kids Corner, Cargo, Group Travel, SWA Vacations, Freedom Shop, and Sky Mall, Adopt a Pilot, Promotions and Sponsorships. Up to the end of 2006 company operated with 481 Boeing 737 aircrafts. It also sells credit to business a partner who includes hotels, credit card companies, car rental agencies and telecommunication companies. Presently, Southwest Airlines flies through 63 cities in 32 states, with more than 3,200 flights daily.

I enjoyed my Southwest Airlines flight a whole lot. It was a great flight, and the food was very tasty. The staff were very friendly and there was plenty of legroom. I was recently on a 9:45 am flight from Houston hobby-Nashville on Nov 8th and had the best complete experience ever. .

I am one of those people who really likes to fly on Southwest Airlines. Southwest has upgraded their planes with better seating all leather. These seats are very comfortable to sit. All flights of Southwest are in time and comfortable. .
