Northwest Airlines

The Northwest Airlines is an America based airlines. Northwest Airlines is popularly known as NWA and headquarter is situated in Eagan, Minnesota. It was started on 1st October 1926 to give mail service to Minneapolis/St. Paul and Chicago. Its passenger service began in 1927. In 1947 it started it s operation in the Asian routes. After acquiring Republic Airlines in 1986 it gained hubs in Detroit and Memphis.

In 1993, it allied with KLM Royal Dutch Airlines to offer convenient and better service between the US and cities worldwide. In 1998, it made an alliance with Continental Airlines to improve consumer travel options and to deliver many benefits to it millions of customers. It has also allied with so many regional airlines under its Northwest Airlink, which offers dozens of flights everyday to Manitoba, Nova Scotia, Ontario, British Columbia, Prince Edward Island, Quebec, and Saskatchewan

Northwest Airlines primarily operates by its hub and spoke route system. It has three major hubs in US at Amsterdam, Detroit, Memphis, Minneapolis/St. Paul and it has also a hub in Asia at Narita International Airport in Tokyo. This Airlines operates a few routes outside of its hub system. Northwest has its operations in the major international airports of East Asia, South Asia, Southeast Asia, Europe and North America.

Northwest Airlines has a fleet of more than 500 aircraft which includes McDonnell-Douglas DC-9s Boeing 747s, and 757s, and Airbus A319s, A320s and A330s. With a dedicated fleet of 14 B747 freighters it is also one of the world's largest cargo airlines. I t is the only American combination carrier which operates dedicated 747 freight carriers. Its vision is to ally with the best people worldwide who have commitment towards its customers' satisfaction. Northwest Airlines a has made a list of policies they are, run a great airline with providing on time transportation, give first priority to customers, build its network and secure its future in terms of finance.
