The Las Vegas is the most thickly settled city in the state of Nevada, United States. Las Vegas Airport city was constructed in the year 1905 and officially became a city in 1911. In the year 1942 the American aviator George Crockett established the Alamo Airport. In 1948 The Clark County purchased the airfield from Crockett to construct the Clark County Public Airport. The airport was renamed as McCarran Field on December 20, 1948. In the year 1963 the present terminals was moved from Las Vegas Boulevard South to Paradise Road. In the year 1978 the Congress accepted the Airline Deregulation Act. This act helps airports to establish additional routes to various destinations. After this deregulation act the McCarran airport increased its airlines services seven to fourteen.
The McCarran International Airport is placed 8 Km away from the south of the central business district of Las Vegas. This airport is a commercial airport, it serves for Las Vegas and surrounding Clark County, Nevada. It has four runways with a minimum of 2,800 acres airfield. The airport is owned by the Clark County, and it is and operated by the Clark County Department of Aviation (DOA). This is a major hub for the US Airways and also for both Southwest Airlines and Allegiant Air. Up to the end of the 2006 the airport ranked as world's eleventh and sixth in the United States.
The Southwest Airlines operated more of its flights from the McCarran airport only. In the year 1986 the US airways started its night-flight hub operation. On October 16, 2003 the airport was set up with the Speed Check kiosks system, which helps to customers to obtain a boarding pass without having to go to a specific airline kiosk or counter. Las Vegas International Airport is world’s first airport which provided the service for multiple airlines from a single kiosk. The McCarran International Airport is also first airport which initiated with the RFID technology, which helps to improve air safety. The McCarran International Airport started the wireless Internet service for free on January 4, 2005.

North Las Vegas Airport:
The North Las Vegas Airport is located 5Km from northwest of the central business district of Las Vegas, in North Las Vegas, Nevada, USA. On December 1, 1941 North Las Vegas airport was opened, at that time it was named as Sky Haven Airport, after it was renamed as North Las Vegas Air Port.
