Delta Airlines
The Delta Airlines, Inc. is a major airline of United States with its headquarters in Atlanta. The Delta Airlines, Inc was founded in 1924 in Macon, Georgia by several partners as Huff Daland and moved it to Monroe In 1928, it was purchased by C.E. Woolman. Then it was renamed as Delta Air Service by the name of Mississippi Delta. Here its route were connected Dallas to Jackson in Mississippi, via Shreveport and Monroe. By 1934, it started its mail service from Charleston to Fort Worth via Columbia, Atlanta, Birmingham, Augusta and Meridian.
In 1941, it shifted its headquarters from Monroe to Atlanta, to easily operate its new route network which extended to Chicago, Miami, and New Orleans. Now there are nine regional airlines including Atlantic Southeast Airlines and American Eagle are also operating under this. Delta has its primary hubs in Salt Lake City International Airport, Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, John F. Kennedy International Airport and Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport. It has secondary hubs in Los Angeles International Airport.
Delta covers an expansive domestic and international network, serving Asia, North America, South America, Middle East, Europe, Africa and the Caribbean. In Asia and Middle East it serves Mumbai, Tokyo, Seoul, Tel Aviv international airports. In North America Delta operates its international flights to Vancouver, Toronto, San Jose del Cabo, Mexico City, Acapulco, Jalisco, Cancun and major airports of US. In South America it serves Rio de Janeiro, Sao Paulo, Santiago, Colombia, Guayaquil, Quito and Caracas. In Europe and Caribbean it covers most of the major international airports.
