Air Deccan Airlines

The Air Deccan Airlines is India's first, low-cost carrier flight. Air Deccan Airlines is established in the 1995 by Deccan Aviation Private Limited has carved a niche for itself in the Indian aviation scene with its reputation for providing reliable and speedy heli-services for company charters, medical evacuation, tourism, off-shore logistics and a host of other services. Air Deccan has a modern fleet of ATR-42-320 aircraft, one of the finest and most efficient Turbo-Prop aircraft flying. ATR is a European joint venture between EADS and Alenia Aeronautica. In seventythree countries they are having more than hundred operators and ATR sold over six hundred and fifty aircraft. It has switched to united state based airlines.

Air Decan Airlines can be identified as the airline with its main colors as sky blue and a yellow pair of hands imitating a bird in flight. It is based in Bangalore and was India’s first low cost carrier – being free of frills. The passengers of Air Deccan to pay a minimal sum for the ticket without inclusions of food, frequent flyer mileage and business class options. Currently operating 350 flights to 64 destinations, Deccan Air is making increasing sales with its cheap air tickets and a wide array of flight schedules.

This Airlines has ordered 30 new ATR 72-500 aircraft (half to be leased), along with 3 secondhand ATR 42-500s and 3 secondhand ATR 72-500s. Deliveries will begin in May 2005 and be spread over a five year period with 6 to 8 aircraft delivered each year. As of June 2005, two of the 30 aircraft have been delivered.

On May 8, Low-budget Airline Air Deccan Airlines is to sell a few seats on its flights for as low cost Rs 1, that too on busy flight routes like Delhi-Bangalore, and is also planning to offer these low-priced tickets over the Internet. “ No gimmick, each flight will have three seats that will be offered at Re 1 and that to needy people," but the ticket bookings will open about three months in advance and can be made over the Internet or through other delivery mechanisms of Air Deccan airlines.
